「書けないけれど、今の日本の問題を想像して」というメッセージを感じる。
昨日のニューヨークタイムスでは、韓国ではソメイヨシノが「特攻により散りゆく」を連想するので、韓国の品種に植え替える動きがあるとの記載があった。
また、真珠湾攻撃での米国兵の遺骨の記事があった。
日本では戦争の話題は報道されませんが、国際社会は忘れてくれません。
「韓国で募集中：帝国主義のない桜」
活動家らは、日本植民地時代に関係するさまざまな桜の木を、彼らが主張する韓国産の桜に置き換えたいと考えている。科学は厄介です。・・・「最終的には、ソメイヨシノがなくなるのを見たいです」と、中心都市堤川市でキングチェリーを繁殖させている植物学者で、同団体の事務局長ジン・オ・ヒョン氏は語った。 「しかし、最も意味のある分野から始めて、段階的に置き換える必要があります。」

バージニア州ノーフォーク在住のデビッド・ウォーカーさん（19）は、USSカリフォルニア号の配膳係だった。当局は高度な法医学技術を使用して彼の遺体を特定した。

In the Chunichi Shimbun (newspaper) article from March 30, 2024, there was a piece about a “mixed Arab and Jewish orchestra.” It’s heartwarming to see such collaborations that transcend cultural and historical boundaries.
Reflecting on the power of music during times of crisis, I recall the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s New Year’s Concert at the beginning of some years ago. Despite the challenges posed by disasters, they emphasized the resilience and healing capacity of music.
Similarly, during the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, artists from both Japan and abroad came together to deliver various performances. Their artistry provided solace, hope, and a sense of unity during a difficult period.
Indeed, the power of the arts is immense. Whether it’s through music, visual arts, literature, or any other form, creativity has the ability to uplift, inspire, and connect people across borders.
