Political Situation in Japan
There is a "political taboo," "political apathy," and "restrictions on reporting on politics."
These have led to a sense of powerlessness among the Japanese people.
In the bicameral system in the U.K., the Senate and the House of Representatives are elected from separate bodies.
In Japan, on the other hand, both the upper and lower houses are elected by political parties. As a result, in states where the Liberal Democratic Party is extremely strong, the check function does not work, and laws related to freedom of the media, etc., are downgraded.
This is published internationally in a Freedomhouse report.

In the Japanese newspaper "Chunichi Shimbun", an obituary for Seiji Ozawa calls for valuing the invisible.

To me, this message feels like "It is difficult to write content that criticizes the government, but please imagine what is not written.

Conceited Politicians
In Japan, the government and those around it often escape punishment even when they commit crimes for which ordinary citizens are punished.
Laws should be improved for the better society.
Parliament members who have obtained slush funds should declare their undocumented income and pay taxes, including heavy additional taxes.
Standing and suspension of civil rights should follow.

A middle school principal bought an S-size coffee at a convenience store and poured an L-size portion, which the clerk reported to the police. He was given a severe disciplinary action.
On the other hand, Parliament members were found to have committed misconduct, but so far has not been punished.
I think it is strange that "Mio Sugita", whose thinking is against the UN's "Human Rights" and who has been found guilty in a civil trial, is not subject to social sanctions.
In October 2022, Mio Sugita was ordered by the Tokyo High Court to pay Itō ¥550,000 in damages for clicking "like" on several Twitter tweets that Itō alleged defamed her. In overturning the dismissal of the litigation by the Tokyo District Court, the High Court found that Sugita's actions intentionally harmed Itō's dignity.

X (Japanese only) shows that Mio Sugita is still a member of the House of Representatives.
